Bird flu: Maha govt starts helpline number to report unusual mortality of birds ANI | Updated: Jan 17, 2021 22:49 IST New Delhi [India], January 17 (ANI): In view of the spread of bird flu across Maharashtra, the State Animal Husbandry Department has started a toll-free helpline number for farmers to report any unusual mortality of birds. The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (FAHD) in a release said that under the powers conferred under Prevention And Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009, the state government has delegated all its requisite powers on District Collectors within their local jurisdiction for the eradication of avian influenza.
