the democratic nomination for president. all of that coming up. welcome, everyone. welcome to our viewers in the u.s. and all around the world. i ll be with you here for the next two hours. this is cnn newsroom. we begin in nepal where people are growing frustrated with the government s response to the massive earthquake that hit over the weekend. protesters gathered outside parliament in kathmandu wednesday. some say the government just isn t delivering relief supplies fast enough. others are angry that they cannot get bus tickets and leave the capital to get home to their families in the more rural areas. nepal s prime minister visited a field hospital, set up by israeli medics. the protesters called that too little too late. they re giving us something, so many, but we didn t get
falls to the ground on some individuals. we can also report some new developments for you. nepal s government says it is reopening climbing routes on mount everest as early as next week. let s bring in malika kapur live from new delhi, and aid efforts. we knew there would be a bottleneck at the main airport, kathmandu, it has a single run way. how is the government? how are aid agencies trying to work with getting aid to where it need to be? there is a lot of frustration because there is a serious problem over. there as you mentioned, kathmandu has just one run way. the only internation name airport in nepal. so, there is huge pressure on that airport to get relief aircraft into get supplies in. it is not that there isn t a way that the international community has come together. put up a tremendous effort to send relief supplies in, send

around six hours. a long walk for an uncertain destination. arwa, thank you. zain. and as arwa damon mentioned, aid distribution has remained riflely chaotic. molica, we ve heard stories of people demonstrating, people protesting, facing off with police because there is no food. then we heard that riot police have been brought in. has that situation calmed? that situation has calmed down. it was really in pockets, it wasn t widespread throughout all of nepal. it is a very difficult situation out there. people are really, really frustrated because they don t have any basic supplies. they re running out of food, they don t have drinking water.
