viewers joining us here in the united states and all around the world. you are watching cnn newsroom, and i m rosemary church. we are following developments out of ukraine where explosions continue to be heard in central kyiv. the first blast came just hours ago, and one official says russia is now attacking the capital with kamikaze drones. cnn s chief international correspondent clarissa ward joins me now from central kyiv. what is the latest on this? reporter: so, essentially, rosemary, people here woke up to the sound of air-raid sirens followed by two loud explosions. then there were at least another two explosions, and we re right in the center of the city at the location or right next to the location of the impact of one of those blasts. you can probably see behind me there s still a lot of smoke in the air from that explosion. we don t know yet how many people may have been injured or possibly killed in this series of blasts here in the capital. we did speak to th
