For the first time, students from Ecuador, Salvador, Sweden and Turkmenistan will be part of the class AGRA: A total of 100 foreign students from 31 countries have enrolled at the Central Hindi Institute in Agra to learn Hindi this year. Last year, 85 students from 20 countries had applied for admission at the institute and many had taken online classes. The diploma course which has 100 government-funded seats for foreign students has been running for the past 48 years. Director of the institute, Dr Beena Sharma, said, “We received 120 applications from different countries for admission in the course. Finally, 100 candidates from 31 countries were shortlisted for admission. After an orientation program, classes will start in August. For now, the mode of teaching will be online.”
