Briefs: Downtown Newark Final Friday event returns Newark Advocate Final Friday Events are Back The Downtown Newark Association will be hosting its first Final Friday event of 2021 on Friday, July 30.  The theme is art and history. The art focus will include a variety of artist exhibitors and vendors, with many new artisans participating. Children’s art will be another new activity, including two activities that will be judged and prizes awarded. Children in two age groups (4-7 and 8-12) can draw chalk images on the sidewalks on South Park Place. Artists can start working on their chalk art projects as early as 1 p.m., which need to be completed by 4 p.m.  Contestants should pick up registration cards at the DNA Tent in order to participate in the sidewalk chalk art, as well as the coloring contest.
