Bharat Biotech enrols 25,800 volunteers for Covaxin phase-3 clinical trials

Hyderabad, Jan 7: The Bharat Biotech International Limited on Thursday announced the successful completion of volunteer enrolment for phase-3 clinical trials of its indigenously manufactured COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin. Covaxin successfully completes phase 3 clinical trials enrolment of 25,800 volunteers, Suchitra Ella, Joint Managing Director of Bharat Biotech in a statement while expressing gratitude towards principal investigators and healthcare workers for their support in their public-private partnership vaccine programme. My deep appreciation to all the volunteers for reposing trust and expressing pro-vaccine public health volunteerism in the phase-3 clinical trials of India s 1st fully indigenous COVID-19 vaccine, Ella added.
Farmers take out tractor march against farm laws, say it’s ‘rehearsal’ for January 26

New Delhi, Jan 7: Amid tight security, thousands of farmers on Thursday started their tractor-march from protest sites Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders against the three agriculture laws.
Bharati Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) chief Joginder Singh Ugrahan said that farmers participated in the march with over 3,500 tractors and trolleys.
According to the protesting farm unions, this is just rehearsal for their proposed January 26 tractor parade that will be move into the national capital from different parts of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Farmers started the tractor march around 11 am and moved towards Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway amid heavy deployment of Delhi Police and Haryana Police personnel.

New Delhi [India], December 27 (ANI): Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait who has been participating in the agitation against the farm laws alleged that he has received a death threat over the phone. It was a phone call from Bihar. They were threatening to kill me with arms. I have forwarded the recording to the police captain. They will do what is needed to be done next, said Tikait.
Tikait is at the forefront of protests against the farm laws. He has filed a complaint at Kaushambi Police Station.
