India hosted the first meeting of BRICS finance and central bank deputies virtually on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by Finance Ministry.
India assumed the chairmanship of BRICS in 2021, at a time when the grouping of Brazil, Russia, India and China is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
The meeting was co-Chaired by Tarun Bajaj, Secretary Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and Dr Michael Patra, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India under the theme BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS Cooperation .
