Firefighters responded to a house fire around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in Willmar. According to Willmar Fire Chief Frank Hanson, the fire was successfully put out and all residents of the home were accounted for.

Willmar Police Chief Jim Felt said a crash investigation in Willmar revealed a pedestrian had deliberately run in front of a moving vehicle shortly after using controlled substances. The male pedestrian suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital, but he could still face potential criminal charges.
Jose Reyna, 50, of Willmar, was identified as the driver injured in a rollover crash reported Sunday morning in the city of Willmar. According to a news release, Reyna swerved to avoid hitting an animal.
A 35-year-old man from Grand Forks, ND, died after a fatal crash initially reported at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. MnDOT had closed a portion of Minnesota Highway 9, east of Benson, for several hours after the crash was first reported.
