A 34-foot boat fell on a man in the Osterville area of Barnstable, Massachusetts, and authorities say he was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital with traumatic.
WEST BARNSTABLE A three-car crash sent three people to the hospital early Friday morning, according to a West Barnstable Fire Department press release.
At around 6 a.m., the West Barnstable Fire Department, with two additional ambulances from Centerville-Osterville-Marston Mills Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police, responded to the crash, the release said.
The crash happened on Route 6 eastbound between Exits 65 and 68 (old exits 5 and 6), the release said.
Three people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis with injuries.
The Massachusetts State Police did not have further information on the crash.
FALMOUTH A residential home in Waquoit Bay was destroyed in a fire Friday afternoon, according to a press release from the Falmouth Fire Department.
Just before 3 p.m., the Falmouth Fire Department received a call for a reported structure fire at 20 Crosby Lane, the release said. Crews from Falmouth and Joint Base Cape Cod fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
While crews were en route to the fire, another call came into headquarters saying that flames from the second floor were visible from outside the house, the release said.
Off-duty Falmouth Deputy Fire Chief Scott Thrasher arrived on the scene and reported that all four family members and the family dog were safely outside of the home, the release said. One family member was taken to Falmouth Hospital for evaluation with a condition that was not considered life-threatening.
