What looked like a crash also turned out to be be a shooting. And now comes word that in at least one case. Children were nearby. It is a new heartwrenching development. In one of the double shootings. Children were found inside the home. Home. A couple killed by gunfire at 107th and appleton. Appleton. Cbs 58s amanda devoe joins us live from the scene. Amanda. Neighbors tell me that the couple was sleeping when were shot and killed many families have lived in this neighborhood for decades and they say nothing like this has ever happened here. Police say it happened around 1 30 this morning on West Appleton and florist. The victims were a 38 year old woman and a 36 year old man. Two children were home at the time of the shooting a cousin i spoke with says family are still trying to wrap their minds around what happened earlier today. A 67year old man was found dead in a car after a crash near 36th and thurston last night. It turns out he died from a gunshot wound not the accident. And then around 4this morning, police say a 34year shot a 32year old woman, and then turned the gun on himself near 52nd and green tree road. The man died. The woman survived. New tonight, congresswoman gwen moore formally requests a federal investigation of the deaths this ye atthe Milwaukee County jail. Jail. In her letter to the department of justice, moore lists four deaths. Including that of an infant and she accuses Milwaukee County of quote failing its constitutional obligations to our inmates. This is a very telling story. First off, cleanup underway. Its such a mess. I would probable argue in fact im sure this a fact. There are several hundred people in this lovely town and im certain more hail pellet fell and hit vehicles than there are residents in this town. The remarkable thing about this block we are walking down is all of the vehicles minus one are owned by the same family. The murray family. All the vehicles, total of eight sustained some damage.
