Aside from having harvest-ready vegetables within the garden, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar also wants to see greenhouses and vertical garden systems inside the green space. He has already ordered the Bureau of Plant Industry for this purpose.
“Let us establish a more permanent area here in Luneta to showcase urban agriculture, so that the people will see and learn the different technologies of food production,” Dar said during the opening of the urban garden on Friday, March 12.
“Dapat hindi lamang dahil may pandemya (We should not do this only during the pandemic),” he stressed.
