A striking image of the different markings on two giraffes has been named runner-up in the Under-12 category of the prestigious RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2020.
âSpeciesâ was taken by 11-year-old Henry Rose from Grantham, whose photo was picked from a record 11,000 entries this year.
Youngsters aged up to 18 years old had been invited to capture the animal kingdom on camera or on a mobile device for this yearâs RSPCA Young Photographer Awards.

Oldham Teenager Ben Harrott snapped this picture of a fox and claimed the prize.
A striking series of images of red foxes have won runner up prize in the Portfolio category of the prestigious RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2020.
The pictures were taken by 16 year old Ben Harrott from Oldham, whose photos were picked from a record 11,000 entries this year.

Curious deer in lockdown wins RSPCA Young Photographer of the Year competition

The winners of the RSPA Young Photographer of the Year competition have been announced. The winning image, Mind your Head, was taken by ‘17 year-old Jake Kneale from Pewsey, Wiltshire, during lockdown in June, and was singled out from a record 11,000 entries this year.
Jake entered his winning image into the new ‘Small World’ category which was launched specifically to recognise how measures to control the pandemic will have limited how far young photographers could travel to take their photos. He was also awarded first prize in the competition’s Portfolio category for his series of striking swan images.
