Dove-hunting series provides training to inexperienced women Monthly sessions by experienced mentors starts soon YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - In collaboration with Yuma Valley Rod & Gun Club, Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) and Sprague’s Sports, the Yuma Trap & Skeet Club is hosting a women s beginner dove-hunting series. The series is scheduled to begin Friday, May 21, with a trap shoot at Adair Shooting Range approximately 15 miles Northeast of Yuma on Hwy 95 (16th Street) from 6-9p.m. Trap shooting targets move away at predictable angles, making them a better choice for beginners. A meet and greet course is planned for June, firearm course in July, shotgun overview for August; all culminating with dove hunt on Monday, September 6. Through these experiences, women 18 years and older will have the opportunity to receive hands-on learning with shooting clay targets, firearms and hunter safety.
