The officer who spoke to Ricky Maddison on the phone on the day the gunman killed Senior Constable Brett Forte says he deliberately enraged the wanted man.
Maddison called the Toowoomba police station hours before he murdered Senior Constable Forte, and Sergeant Peter Jenkins spoke to him for a lengthy period.
Ricky Maddison was wanted for domestic violence offences when he killed Senior Constable Brett Forte.
