Bihar government on Monday released of data from a state-wide caste-based survey, which indicated that 36 per cent of the population are from Extremely Backward Classes, 27 per cent are from Backward Classes and 19 per cent are from Scheduled Castes.
The survey also stated that Yadavs, the OBC group to which Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav belongs, were the largest in terms of population, accounting for 14.27 percent of the total.
