And then the president. Chris, what i think this shows is mueller is accelerating sat ob struskz justice aspect of the probe. The three pillars of this investigation, it looks like the Obstruction Case is going down the track further and faster than the collusion and Money Laundering. Theres a lot we dont see but the obstruction witnesses we know who they are and what stories they have to tell. Its not a surprise that comey is a key witness. Whats surprising to me is its happening now and seems like its speeding up. Natasha, explain how you see what kind of a case mueller is going to make here with these hot witnesses now. It seems like ken said hes moving more quickly along the obstruction path.
comes from the meat, in this case mueller. but team trump figured out a way to blunt what they may view as the bitter taste of mueller s meaty evidence by sandwiching him with a lot of barr. if you remember, there was a lot of barr before any of the mueller report came out. there was more barr during that unusual press conference to upstage the report on the very day it came out. and now that bob mueller has spoken for what he says he hopes to be the last time, well, guess what, mueller sandwich. barr out today again muddying mueller s careful explanation of how the rules prohibit indicting a president because, true to the sandwich, barr is making his own news and he is the attorney general, so what he says matters. he is claiming that mueller could have reached a decision on that very indictment point. i personally felt he could have reached a decision. in your view he could have reached a conclusion. right. he could have reached a conclusion. the opinion says you can t indict a
render donald trump unelectable in 2020. i don t hear enough republican voices standing up saying enough is enough. look, i think you are right that s what they intend to do. i think the american people are beginning to have a bad reaction to what they are seeing. i may have been in the minority. i think i still am. i ve always thought for i a long period of time that robert mueller is going to come out with a report that s going to exonerate the president and going to be the best possible defense. because the democrats put so much hope and faith that he would somehow come up with something that would show that president was a tool of moscow and that putin was pulling the strings and calling the tune. when that doesn t turn out to be the case mueller is going to he s been tough. no doubt about it. every presidential campaign sean: i don t like hillary s attention. what happens when the report
sentence in the other case so the second case wouldn t dramatically increase his exposure. but one of the counts on which he s going to be sentenced in the case we re talking about tonight, the d.c. case, was a conspiracy to obstruct justice in connection with witness tampering. that will likely be on top of whatever he gets in the other case. and in the other case, although the sentencing guidelines call for 19.5 to a 24.5-year sentence, i don t think that that will happen. i think that that seems excessive. and it s largely driven by the dollar value of the tax evasion that we re talking about in that case. so that happens all of the time. there s an exorbitant amount of time called for by the sentencing guidelines. i think the likelihood is not going to be anywhere near that but still substantial. i wouldn t be surprised if it was very high, single digits or low double digit sentence. this notion of the district attorney in new york preparing in case mueller gets pardoned by the p
