LEAVENWORTH â Two Leavenworth residents were hospitalized after separate Chumstick Highway incidents Tuesday and early Wednesday.
A 21-year-old lost control on a straightaway and rolled off of Chumstick at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, said Jason Reinfeld with the Chelan County Sheriffâs Office.
The driver hit a utility pole, went through a guard rail, rolled once andthen landed driver-side down in a creek roughly two feet deep.
Medical crews took him to Cascade Medical Center for hypothermia, he said. No other injuries were reported.
A 19-year-old was pinned under his car shortly after midnight Wednesday in the 13000 block of Chumstick, he said. The man was trying to remove a cone stuck in the wheel well of his car when it slid on ice and pinned both his legs.

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. The newly approved Moderna coronavirus vaccine will add tens of thousands of vaccine doses to Washington state s allotment this week.
Both Pfizer and Moderna are sending COVID-19 vaccines to Washington.
“In combination, we’re getting close to 180,000 doses of vaccine this week,” said Cassie Sauer, president of the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA).
According to the association, 44,850 Pfizer doses and 128,000 Moderna doses are expected.
Hospitals around the Northwest are busy vaccinating their highest-risk employees.
The Providence Health System in Spokane began that work last Friday. Spokeswoman Beth Hegde says inoculations will continue all week at Sacred Heart.
In western Washington, the CHI Franciscan Health System says it has vaccinated about 2,500 staff members since the middle of last week.
Some of the state’s smallest health care providers are relying on larger partners to protect their high-risk workers. In central Washington, for example, Confluence Health in Wenatchee is working with Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth.
“Confluence received the Pfizer vaccine and they have helped vaccinate 21 of our employees who are in the high-risk category. We feel really grateful for that, said Diane Blake, the CEO of Cascade Medical Center.
