community. when he talks about k through college education being offered to all, that helps the african-american community. when he talks about racial justice and how in this country as the next president of the united states he s going to work hard to eradicate institutional racism and he doesn t just say this to african-american crowds. he will say this to all white crowds. so the african-american community is being introduced to senator sanders. he is the president for the african-american community. and dare i say all you have america. we re going to do everything we can to make sure his voice and his message is out there so that the african-american community will know that the senator bernie sanders is the president for them. cornell, let me ask you this. you mentioned nina mention the sort of the way everything turned around in iowa. this kind of cascade effect can happen in primaries. polling national numbers and the results come back and things really change. how do you thin

this airport shutdown, what s the status there? reporter: you talk about how close lindbergh field is. you know the planes come within 100, 150 feet of the buildings. he is on bankers hill which overlooks the bay and the zoo and balboa park. the reason they re letting flights take off. he can t reach those. the planes gloming are right ahead of him. they have now, the locals are reporting at least two and three-hour delays at lindberg field. and the longer this situation goes on, the longer those delays will become. and of course you have the cascade effect. you can expect to have other delays in other airports, especially southern california that especially all across the country. all right. first in california, investigators say a suspect stabbed five people at a university campus before police killed him. it happen at the university of california in merced, a couple
countries like greece and slovenia. it s kind of amazing when you think about it. we re wealthier, but we have the biggest hunger crisis and it s wonderful that we talk about it at this time of year, but we should be talking about it in february when the budget cuts are proposed. we should be talking about it in summertime who those kids who rely on a school meal get nothing. we should be talking about it all year and because we talk about it in the public s mind as a charitable issue. instead of an ongoing, social issue. instead of it as a charitable context and a great nation shouldn t aspire to food banks. and also the cascade effect that hunger has on education, innovation, jobs and security. our economy is tied to people not being hungry. if they re hungry, they can t work. if they re hungry they can t learn. i wonder, frank, what do you think accounts for the disconnect between the political leaders and the voters?
