Sophomore Carter Dalton smashed a three-run homer and freshman Jake Day added a two-run double during the Trailblazers’ fast start. Freshman John Winkler doubled in a run and three more scoring on freshman Dontae Burch’s dinger in the second. The Chiefs got on the board with senior Drew Schmidt’s two-out single in the second. Northland wasn’t done, though. Junior Joshua Hudson walked, stole two bases and scored on senior Colt Smith’s single in the third, freshman Seth Martin cracked a solo shot in the fourth and Hudson tripled in a run and was one of two runners plated by a Winkler double in the fifth.
