SULLY â Lynnville-Sully s girls basketball team lost its first game of the season on Tuesday night despite leading by six at halftime.
The Class 1A No. 11 Hawks shot 32 percent from the floor, made 6-of-19 from 3-point range and connected on 7-of-13 from the free-throw line in a 56-47 home loss to North Mahaska during South Iowa Cedar League play.
North Mahaska was able to rally in part because of a 16-5 advantage in second-chance points. The difference in the game was our lack of rebounding and our rotation and communication were not there on defense, L-S girls head coach Jerry Hulsing said. We stopped attacking on offense in the second half.
