ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) The man taken into custody after a Rochester police officer was shot Tuesday has still not been arraigned on any charges related to the shooting. And he s still not listed among the inmates at the Monroe County Jail.
News10NBC learned late Wednesday, James Hunter, born in 1966, is in satisfactory condition at Strong Hospital.
The New York State Department of Corrections says Hunter had been checking in with his parole officer since May of 2020. The state says there was no parole warrant against up as of Tuesday.
The Rochester police union told me it wants a parole detainer on Hunter to keep him in custody. The state says it is investigating that.
