A pair of ACC foes will collide for the second straight time in a Final Four. No. 1 UNC and No. 4 Boston College met in the 2019 semifinal a thrilling overtime Eagles win in arguably one of the greatest games ever played.
It feels like ages ago and not just because of the pandemic and cancelation of the 2020 tournament. The Eagles roster included The Big Three: Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault and Kenzie Kent, who graduated in 2019.
But this game isn’t going to lack star power. Three of the five Tewaaraton finalists will take the field in BC’s Charlotte North, who transferred from Duke after the 2019 season, and UNC’s Jamie Ortega and Taylor Moreno. And then there’s the Tar Heel’s Katie Hoeg, who likely finished just outside the top five in voting for the award. It’s a game that could easily be the championship in any other season.
