Cody Czichos, 31, threatened to kill Nicole Gallegos before gashing her multiple times with a knife and knocking out several of her teeth in January, according to police. Czichos is also accused of slapping the other woman Nicole’s mother, Carol Gallegos in the face and punching her in the side.
The race will take place Saturday where triathletes with swim, bike and run for a grueling 140.6 miles from Kailua Bay in downtown Kona to the top of Hawai‘i Island in Hawī and finish where they started.
   Española Police Department officers responded to Calle las Tunas for a homeowner who believed their dog had brought home a human skull.
   Carol Gallegos told Officer Isaac Anaya her son came running into the house yelling there were bones in the front yard. She said she didnât think much of it as her dogs roam the field behind her house and sometimes bring animal bones to the yard.
   Anaya checked the skull sitting in the yard and âidentified it as a human skull from past experience with law enforcement training.â He then contacted Sgt. Cody Martinez and secured the area around the skull.
