Laurel Little Theatre has announcesdtheir upcoming 62nd year, 'A SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS SEASON!' that begins the end of July. The season opener will be the new Broadway musical 'SOMETHING ROTTEN' running the weekends of July 29-31 and August 5-7.
Little Theatre of Virginia Beach transforms into the small town of Brookhaven, Mississippi, where the Fourth of July means it's time to crown the next Miss Firecracker. It's been a dream for Carnelle Scott (played by Madeleine Dilley) ever since she was a little girl and watched her cousin Elain win at age 17. What she lacks in polish, she makes up for in enthusiasm.

PARKERSBURG “The Miss Firecracker Contest” will be presented by the Actors Guild of Parkersburg at 8 p.m. May 21, 22, 28 and 29, and 2:30 p.m. on May 23 and 30.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the Guild website at www.actors-guild.com.
The comedy is set in 1974 in Brookhaven, Miss., and was written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Beth Henley.
The play is about Carnelle who desperately wants to be named Miss Firecracker at her town’s Fourth of July Carnival. The title is very important to her and this summer’s pageant is her last chance as her age will not allow her to compete again.
