January 21, 2021 “Spare Change” by Rachel Tveit won the 2020 Social Justice in Action Award. Written on an animated sign, “Spare Change” draws attention to the issue of homelessness in our country and takes the audience on an emotional journey that ends with a list of ways that people can directly help. By Adriana Aumen, College of Arts and Sciences WSU students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the surrounding education community, are invited to enter original works of visual, literary or mixed-media/multimedia art that speaks to social justice issues. Submissions will be accepted for consideration until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, and should relate to at least one of four categories:
