Ashwini Vaishnaw: "The telecom sector will see further increase in 5G coverage, and practically every village will get quality mobile coverage. Rollout of the revamped Bharatnet will take broadband connections to millions of rural families. The Bharat 6G vision was launched by PM Modi in 2023. This vision will drive many inventions in 2024. ITU will start defining the contours of 6G in 2024 and Bharat will play a key role."

Bharat will join the select club of countries that have successfully developed hydrogen trains in 2024. Mastering the hydrogen powertrain system will create new opportunities for the marine, heavy transport and defence sectors. The new year will see a scaling up of station redevelopment programme. Work has already started on 1,309 Amrit stations. Many of these will be ready for inauguration. Technology for the modular construction of stations will be perfected so that the country can take up another 1,000 stations.
