Madhubani (Bihar) [India], May 24 (ANI): The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the stressed and almost non-functional healthcare system in rural Bihar with unsanitary conditions, lack of medical equipment and missing medical staff becoming the norm at many hospitals.
The government health centre in Sukki village in Madhubani s Khajauli has become a shelter for stray animals. The ruined structure accommodating cattle used to be the second-largest hospital in Bihar s Madhubani. However, it is now lying dysfunctional in the midst of the pandemic. There are many things lying all around that give a reminder that the ruined building once housed a hospital.
Exile Tibetans donate 5 Crore rupees to PM-Cares Fund

DHARAMSHALA, May 14: Exile Tibetans spread across the globe have donated around 5 Crore INR to India’s relief efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic through the PM-Cares Fund, the President Dr. Lobsang Sangay of the exile Tibetan government known officially as the Central Tibetan Administration said Wednesday.
The donation was collected from Tibetan communities around the world including North America, Europe and those in India, Nepal and Bhutan. Tibetans in the US donated USD 222,456 (1,63,11,708 INR) while Tibetans in Canada donated a sum of CAD 90,543 (54,66,352 INR) according to reports from the Office of Tibet (OOT) in Washington DC. Along with the donation, Representative Tsering sent a letter to Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu and High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria expressing solidarity and prayers on behalf of the Tibetans living in North America and hoped for a speedy recovery from this unprecedented cha

NEW DELHI: As states grapple with a shortage of coronavirus vaccines, the Centre Thursday said that over two billion doses will be made available in the country in five months between August and December, enough to vaccinate the entire population.
V K Paul, Member (Health), Niti Aayog, also said the Russian anti-Covid vaccine Sputnik V is likely to be available by next week.
