We begin this hour on the Campaign Trail with republican president ial candidates underway in michigan missouri and idaho. Ahead of Super Tuesday donald trump is out campaigning. say it in public under oath. you are looking at where the witnesses stand and where the story is going. a lot of people on the right now alleging the bribery plot, including sondland, trump s ally. you have mulvaney who retracted and then all by himself the president. melissa murray is back with me. thank you for being here throughout our special. thank you. thanks for having me. i walked through that because cases are about evidence. a lot of the evidence is testimony. yes. what does it mean when we look on that chart and see sondland moving and trump increasingly isolated? he sees the the writing on the wall, bill taylor is virtually an unimpeachable, no pun intended witness, a career servant, saying i have no dog in this fight, i don t want to be on the record as wanting impeachment or not, i just want to tell the truth, and the truth, this is what i saw. all of a sudden sondland is, wait a minute, let me go back, i
behavior each time. and i think what makes this one a little harder is that it starts with this whistle-blower, who s a career servant, and it s continued on as the witnesses today we ll see, like career diplomats, like people in trump s own white house who are saying the president engaged in wrongdoing. so, it s hard to dismiss this as some democrat witch hunt or this or that. these are longstanding career people, served in the military, served in the state department, saying all of this stuff. and then you ve got trump s conduct at every turn, which is to hide, to obfuscate, to try and let the whistle-blower testimony not to come out at all. then to fire the watchdog. wants to fire the watchdog and now wants to call for the whistle-blower to be outed, which is, i think, the most reprehensible thing going back for 200 years. america has always tried to protect whistle-blowers because of their critical information they provide. so you ve got all of this presidential behavior, him s
and getting sort of an honest truth from each one of those peoples who are speaking. and when it comes to the place where we will put it public and allow people to see not only the transcripts but also the testimony, that would be the point where i think we will try to figure out what the combination of the best people to speak in a public way would be. do you imagine bill taylor who gave that testimony yesterday wlb one of those people? yes, i absolutely think he will be one of those keystones to this entire situation. president trump yesterday attacked him as a never trumper and used a phrase i don t want to use. his press secretary stephanie grisham described him as one of these radical unelected bureaucrats waging war on the constitution. he s a vietnam veteran. i ask you as an air force veteran, what daung of that? i m incredibly disappointed with that description. this is a 50-year career servant
the defendant said punching down career servant is also equally unconshunable. when an fbi stands up in the witness box and raises their hand to tell the truth the whole truth, nothing but the truth, they have to be believed. in this instance, i question mr. mccabe s veracity of account. what about the fact that he came out this morning and he said that he and other fbi officials actually warned the then gang of eight, which included at the time you know, mitch mcconnell, pulmonary rain, devon nunez, that the fbi had opened that counterintelligence investigation, you know, into president trump after he fired comey, none of those guys pushed back. yeah. i don t have, again, i don t take any issue with the fact that there weren t things that candidate trump and then president trump, the new administration, things that he said that should have raised suspicions and demanded
