Oregon City artist lands grant for solo exhibition Tammy Jo Wilson creating more paintings for show at Chemeketa Community College. Oregon City artist Tammy Jo Wilson received $1,500 this month from the Oregon Arts Commission to support her solo exhibition at Chemeketa Community College in Salem from Jan. 5 to Feb. 4, 2022. Wilson said she was excited to use the grant to support the creation of new artwork for the solo show. She added that the show will mostly consist of painting completed after the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, but that she might include the occasional pastel or older piece. I have one painting in my mind right now that I m planning to work on this week, she said.

Huerta received $1,500 from the Oregon Arts Commission to support a professional development and training opportunity with master Charros and Talabarteros (leatherworkers) in Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, Mexico, in spring/summer 2021. Four local artists are part of the first of two rounds of the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation’s Career Opportunity Program grant awards. The organizations awarded $82,305 to 24 Oregon artists for career development projects.This total includes $33,515 from the Oregon Arts Commission and $48,790 in supplemental funding through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation’s Visual Arts Program. Individual grants ranged from $500 to $8,500.
