COVID-19 update: Queensland records one new case as exposure sites grow

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced there was one new local case overnight with five cases in overseas hotel quarantine.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the good news in her daily press conference and urged people to continue come out for testing and to get vaccinated.
The new case is a woman who is close contact of a gentleman from Cinnamon Park who travelled to Eumundi.

Police have today arrested a further 12 men in relation to an assault on several innocent members of the public in Rotorua last month.
This follows 11 arrests made yesterday after search warrants carried out in Waitematā and Whanganui.
The men, all Hells Angels gang members ranging in age from 25 to 57, are facing charges including rioting, wounding with intent, and assault with intent.
The arrests relate to an incident on 22 May outside a bar on Arawa Street, Rotorua, in which 14 members of the public were assaulted.

The group, all allegedly Hells Angels gangs members, face a range of charges including rioting, wounding with intent and assault with intent.
Detective Sergeant Caroline Wharton says it was a frightening attack outside an Arawa Street bar on fourteen innocent people, that left two suffering serious injuries.
She says the arrests send a clear message that police are committed to holding offenders to account.

Fatality confirmed after crash in Rotorua
A person has died after a car collided with a tree on Arawa Street in Rotorua.
The crash was reported to Police just after midnight.
The person was the only occupant in the vehicle.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
