th of this year, Captain Aggarwal was the member of an all-women cockpit crew that flew Indiaâs national carrier Air Indiaâs first flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru. Her other crew members were: Â Capt. Papagari Thanmai, Capt. Akansha Sonaware and Capt. Shivani Manhas.
In an exclusive trailblazer video interview series on Chai With Manju, Capt. Aggarwal says there was once a 8-year-old Zoya who would gaze stars and watch planes flying and would wonder if she herself could fly those planes.
Although she calls herself a ânormalâ girl, but she is already changing lives of millions of 8-year-olds by inspiring them to achieve their dream.

CHENNAI, India On January 11, four women pilots boarded the cockpit of the Air India Flight 176 in San Francisco a Boeing 777 whose final destination was Bengaluru, India. The commander of the flight Captain Zoya Aggarwal, who also flew the first leg, was accompanied by co-pilots Captain Thanmei Papagiri, Captain Akanksha Sonaware and Captain Shivani Manhas.
When they touched down at Bengaluru, the four had created history by charting the longest non-stop commercial flight piloted by an all-women crew, operated by an Indian airline through the polar route via the North Pole. Besides the pilots, the flight had 12 cabin crew and around 238 passengers on board. The pilots flew over 16,000 km in a span of 17 hours.

Bangalore: “I was on top of the world” said an elated Captain Zoya Aggarwal. She had every right to have such a feeling. Zoya Aggarwal headed the four-member all-woman cockpit crew that flew into Indian aviation history Monday. They landed the San Francisco-Bangalore Air India direct flight after going over the North Pole.
The AI-176 landed at the Kempegowda International Airport here and the crew members walked to the lounge. A huge crowd gave a rousing reception to all-woman team for scripting history with the about 17-hour journey. It is longest flight by the national carrier or any other airline in India.
