The blaze, dubbed the Park Fire, ignited in the 4000 block of Park Drive, near Capri Park on Jan. 20. Investigators determined that multiple fires were the result of arson. According to police, evidence collected led them to Crawford, who currently is experiencing homelessness.

The fire ignited near the intersection of Park and Marina drives, near Capri Park, and was considered fast-moving, according to SoCal Air Operations. City officials said air support was used to fight the fire. The spread of the approximately three acre fire was halted just before 3:30 p.m., according to authorities. There were no injuries or damage to homes reported, according to City of Carlsbad Fire Prevention Specialist Felix Salcedo.
