Helias opened fast and never looked back. The Lady Crusaders scored the first 10 points Wednesday night on their way to an eventual 56-31 win against the Capital City Lady Cavaliers during Central Missouri Activities Conference action at Capital City High School.
The energy was apparent from the start. Starting just after the opening tip Tuesday night, the Capital City Lady Cavaliers and the Jefferson City Lady Jays scrapped and battled from end to end at Capital City High School. That energy didn’t necessarily convert into offense, however, as the Lady Jays defeated the Lady Cavaliers 37-17 in Central Missouri Activities Conference action.
The Capital City Lady Cavaliers saved their best minute of basketball for the final minute Monday night. The Warrensburg Lady Tigers trailed the Lady Cavaliers by one point with 1:02 to play, but Capital City went on a 6-0 run to finish the game, pulling out a 53-46 victory at Capital City High School.
The Capital City Lady Cavaliers just needed one more break to go their way Thursday night at Capital City High School. The Lady Cavaliers led for a majority of the night, but the Battle Spartans stormed back in the end to grab a 48-46 victory in Central Missouri Activities Conference action.
A tough midseason challenge. The Capital City Lady Cavaliers are set to host the Jefferson Bank Holiday Hoops Classic, which tips off at 2:30 p.m. today. The Lady Cavaliers (2-7) will play the final game of the day, taking on the St. Joseph Benton Lady Cardinals at 7 p.m.
