The Helias Crusaders hit their first four shots, and five of their first six, and never looked back. The fourth-seeded Crusaders took the lead they would not give up with 6:20 left in the first quarter and built to a 64-49 win Wednesday against the fifth-seeded Union Wildcats in the first round of the Class 5 District 5 Tournament at Capital City High School.
Helias opened fast and never looked back. The Lady Crusaders scored the first 10 points Wednesday night on their way to an eventual 56-31 win against the Capital City Lady Cavaliers during Central Missouri Activities Conference action at Capital City High School.
Capital City celebrated its seniors in style. The Lady Cavaliers sent off their three seniors with a 48-37 win Friday night against the Mexico Lady Bulldogs at Capital City High School.
The energy was apparent from the start. Starting just after the opening tip Tuesday night, the Capital City Lady Cavaliers and the Jefferson City Lady Jays scrapped and battled from end to end at Capital City High School. That energy didn’t necessarily convert into offense, however, as the Lady Jays defeated the Lady Cavaliers 37-17 in Central Missouri Activities Conference action.
Kolton Garner never let up.
Garner totaled 31 points, 16 rebounds, two steals and a block to lead the Hallsville Indians to a 64-49 win Friday night against the Capital City Cavaliers at Capital City High School.
