One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a car accident in Hartford Monday night, officials said.
Police said the accident happened at approximately 7:47 p.m. in the area of Garden Street at Capen Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a car near the intersection which they say struck a utility pole after the car crash.
A man was found inside the car with serious injuries. Police identified him as 26-year-old Luis Dominguez, Jr., of Hartford. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.

HARTFORD Investigators on Tuesday continue to probe a major crash that left one person dead and another in critical condition Monday night, according to police.
Patrol officers responded to the area of Garden Street at Caleb Street for a report of a serious two-vehicle collision around 7:45 p.m. Monday, Lt. Aaron Boisvert said.
First responders arrived to find a silver Infiniti near the intersection that hit a utility pole after the crash with the other vehicle, Boisvert said.
An unidentified male occupant in the Infiniti suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police identified him as 26-year-old Luis Dominguez Jr. of Magnolia Street in the city.
