HARTFORD, Conn. The Hartford community gathered Monday night for a vigil to remember three-year old Randell Jones.
Jones was one of two victims in Saturday s back-to-back shootings in broad daylight.
The vigil generated a large and emotional response.
The victim being a toddler made many community members realize just how bad the violence in the city has gotten. I mean, three years old! Didn’t even have a chance to see life! said Thomas Lumpkin of Hartford.
Lumpkin was one of many people who attended to send his condolences at the memorial.

BOSTON (AP) - A Randolph man faces charges in the February killing of a man in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, police said Friday.
Darren Gillespie, 25, was arrested Friday in the town of Mansfield. He faces charges including murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, police said.
Gillespie is accused of killing Brandon Williams, 32, of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. Williams was found shot on Feb. 4 in the area of Capen Street and Evans Street in Dorchester. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dorchester shooting victim identified as Brandon Williams

Around 10 p.m. Thursday, Williams was shot near Capen Street and Evans Street in Dorchester, Boston police said.
Officers got to the scene and found Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Williams was pronounced dead by Boston EMS at the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to call homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.

HARTFORD, Connecticut Police are investigating a deadly crash in the area of Capen and Garden Street Monday night.
Officers responded to calls of a serious two-car crash near the intersection. A silver Acura had struck a utility pole after the crash.
The man inside the Acura was suffering serious injuries and taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead. Another person inside the Acura was found nearby, also suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition.
