Attorneys and an alleged victim s mother are speaking out after new charges were filed against a former Harnett County school employee accused of sex crimes involving students.
Tammy Moran, 45, of Cottle Lake Drive in Coats, was first charged March 19 with three counts of sexual activity by a substitute parent/custodian, according to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
Moran was the chief financial officer at Cape Fear Christian Academy and she offered boarding to students whose families lived elsewhere.
According to a March statement from the school, Moran was dismissed from her position the same day she was arrested.
New charges against Moran were filed April 22, which include an additional count of sexual activity with a student and one count of embezzlement.
HENDERSON â Junior Andres Prince made history for Crossroads Christian by becoming the first player in the history of both menâs and womenâs basketball at the school to be selected to the NCISAA 1A All-State team.
Prince said that his first season at CCS was challenging in numerous ways, both on and off the court, but he felt honored to be recognized by the NCISAA for his on-court achievements and hopes to find more ways to improve ahead of next year.
âI think everything went pretty well overall,â Prince said. âWith all of the quarantines that we had to deal with, I think that kind of threw us off and thatâs why we didnât have as much chemistry that we could have had.â

Raleigh, N.C. North Raleigh Christian was ranked second last fall out of all teams in the eastern half of North Carolina, no matter what association they played in.
This fall, the Knights are ending the year No. 1 in a statewide ranking after capturing their sixth straight N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association championship.
Four teams in the final statewide top 25 belonged to associations other than the NCISAA: the Alamance Acers and New Life Camp Storm belong to the N.C. Home Educators Athletic Conference, Union Grove Christian plays in the N.C. Christian Schools Association, and Sheets Memorial Christian plays in the Christian Schools Athletic Conference.
