Sir martin this morning promised a vigorous inquiry that gets to the truth and said he understood the desire of local people for justice. The Prime Minister told mps that she expects he will produce an interim report as early as possible into the tragedy, in which 80 people are now presumed to have died. Sir Martin Moore Bick spent 20 years as a judge and is said to be highly respected, but his appointment has been questioned by some. Heres our correspondent richard lister.
