Canyon Country Containment Set Up After No-Bail Juvenile Suspect Runs From Deputies
A Canyon Country containment was established Monday morning after a juvenile no-bail robbery suspect fled from deputies before he was found and detained.
Around 9:15 a.m. Monday, a no-bail robbery suspect fled from deputies on Kimbrough Street in Canyon Country, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies had set up a containment around the area as they searched for the suspect, according to Arriaga.
Around 9:35 a.m. the suspect was located underneath a vehicle near Bakerton Avenue and Fairweather Street, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Canyon Country Assault With Deadly Weapon Under Investigation
An assault with a deadly weapon is being investigated in Canyon Country Wednesday night.
At around 7:30 p.m., reports were received of an assault with a deadly weapon on Medley Ridge Drive in Canyon Country, according to Lieutenant Loughridge with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
A singular victim suffering a gunshot wound arrived at a local trauma center, prompting the investigation.
“Deputies are out there investigating a shooting,” Loughridge said. “The victim drove themselves to (the hospital).”
The vehicle the victim arrived in had a bullet hole in a car door, according to officials on scene.
