Assault Suspect Who Shot Off-Duty Detective Vehicle In Santa Clarita Faces Several Felonies   A transient was taken into custody Monday evening on several felony charges after he allegedly shot a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective vehicle with a pellet gun in Santa Clarita.  Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, deputies were alerted by an off-duty detective of a man walking eastbound on Soledad Canyon Road near Camp Plenty Road in Canyon Country carrying a rifle, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.   “The male was last seen entering the brush area north of Soledad Canyon Road,” Arriaga said.

Assault Suspect Detained After Chasing Victim With Rake In Canyon Country An assault suspect was taken into custody Tuesday after he allegedly chased an individual with a rake in Canyon Country. Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the Starbucks Coffee Shop on the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, said Lt. Doug Morhoff with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “An informant called the station saying he saw a male chasing another male with a rake,” Morhoff said. Deputies were able to locate and detain the suspect at gunpoint shortly after they arrived on scene, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Canyon Country Assault With Deadly Weapon Under Investigation An assault with a deadly weapon is being investigated in Canyon Country Wednesday night. At around 7:30 p.m., reports were received of an assault with a deadly weapon on Medley Ridge Drive in Canyon Country, according to Lieutenant Loughridge with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. A singular victim suffering a gunshot wound arrived at a local trauma center, prompting the investigation. “Deputies are out there investigating a shooting,” Loughridge said. “The victim drove themselves to (the hospital).” The vehicle the victim arrived in had a bullet hole in a car door, according to officials on scene.

Canyon Country Assault Prompts Emergency Response Officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a Canyon Country assault that left at least one person injured Monday afternoon, officials said. Just after 2:20 p.m. Monday, emergency responders received reports of an assault that occurred near the intersection of Rock Rose Lane and Jakes Way in Canyon Country, according to Dispatcher Melanie Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department “We got the call from sheriff’s (deputies) as a response to an assault,” said Flores. The condition of the victim was unknown as of Monday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation as of 2:40 p.m. Monday, according to officials on scene.

Canyon Country Assault Suspect Arrested After Striking Victim In Torso A Canyon Country assault suspect was arrested Tuesday after allegedly striking an individual in the torso during a verbal altercation. On Tuesday around 2:20 p.m., deputies responded to Furnivall Avenue and Soledad Street in Canyon Country regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Upon arrival, two males were detained pending investigation,” Arriaga said. During the investigation, deputies learned during a verbal dispute, the suspect struck the victim with an object in his torso, according to Arriaga.
