CHMA Receiving Provincial Funding To Help Expand Resources To Youth

The Canadian Mental Health Association of Wood Buffalo is getting ‘substantial funding’ from the provincial government which will allow them to better connect youth and families to resources through their Youth Hub. They didn’t specify how much money they’re receiving, however, up to $7.3 million is being allocated to hubs across Alberta. “We are so excited to have the Government of Alberta’s commitment to increasing youth mental health services in our province and our community,” said Mara Hayward, Youth Hub Manager, Wood Buffalo Integrated Youth Network, Canadian Mental Health Association – Wood Buffalo.

Twin brothers Daniel and Nick Keys along with Lyndsey Janes each be walked around 80 km on Saturday in an attempt to raise $3,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association of Wood Buffalo. They ended up raising nearly $5,200. Speaking on Fort McMurray Matters, the three friends stated they wanted to support CMHA of Wood Buffalo as they’ve seen a rise in people looking to access their programs and services.
