WBBJ TV April 30, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. A new report revealed encouraging trends on Tennessee college campuses. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released their 2020 Crime on Campus Report, an annual publication dating back 20 years. The good news is 2020 was one of the safest ever on college campuses in the state, with a 33% drop in reported crime from 2019. That includes a near 45% drop in violent crime. “It’s great that they can come to campus and know this is a great place to be. We can hang out and not worry about anything,” said Shane Young, Chief of Police at Jackson State Community College.
