There is a Flood Outlook Statement in effect till Monday for area spanning from Lake Ontario to Rice Lake and Grafton to Quinte West. Also this has an affect on local creeks in the watershed. While stream levels are average right now, with the high temperatures melting the snow over the next few days. We are also expected to get 10-15 millimeters of rain, with both and melting snow and the rain in tandem this could cause nuisance flooding in some cases.
In a survey done recently, it showed that there is 40-60 millimeters worth of snow water on the ground right now, this could cause dangerous and unpredictable waterways. People are asked to keep their pets and kids away from all waterways during this time. Also, it is highly recommended to stay away from bridges, dams and culverts.
