Mayor crews is technically no longer in the race he dropped out shortly after the runoff was announced. However he is still on the Ballot Voters can still vote for him. The other candidate, jim brown has never run for mayor before. Theres also a third candidate a write in, whos been making a push for votes this past month. Kwwls Olivia Mancino is following this election she joins us live to explain theres some pretty unique circumstances to this race that third candidate, dave halterman, was on the ballot in the initial election he says once he learned mayor crews was dropping out, he decided to launch a writein campaign for the runoff i sat down with halterman and candidate jim brown today to in less than 24 hours. 3 bill we begin this 3 morning with an update to a story we have been following on news 4. A longstanding lawsuit over the splitting of reno and truckee meadows Fire Agencies is now settled. The lawsuit was filed in september of 2014 by the city over unresolved costs from the 2012 deconsolidation of the agencies. So, now that things are settled what does that mean for each side. Under the settlement, both sides have agreed to drop Financial Claims against the other. And the district will pay back Workers Compensation money it began withholding when reno filed the suit. In the end, truckee meadows will pay more workers comp. Plus interest to the city of reno. During yesterdays meeting. Mayor Hillary Schieve actually brought up the possibility of consolidating the agencies again.
