Appears to be unconscious, and moments later, rice drags her body out of the elevator. This afternoon, the ravens tweeted they terminated ray rices contract. Moments later, a spokesman for the nfl tweeted, Roger Goodell has announced that based on new Video Evidence that became available today, he has indefinitely suspended ray rice. Back in july, this video was released from a camera outside of the elevator. Janay palmer did not press charges. And rice was given just a twoday or twogame suspension from the nfl. But today, the emergence of this new video is setting off a fire storm of controversy and questions. What should the policy be . And what did the nfl know about this video . Today, before suspending rice indefinitely, the nfl released a statement saying, quote, that video was not made available to us, and no one in our office has seen it until today. You mentioned the bad travel conditions the storm has caused. Yesterday there were two storm related deaths in nebraska from drivers in extra separate incidents. The snow is coming down so hard and so fast and the wind was so strong that there were whiteout conditions throughout much of the midwest yesterday. Here in chicago, the roads this morning, 500 trucks were out here on the street clearing the roads overnight so these main roadways, theyre looking good. The problem is over here on these side roads. This is in the neighborhoods for folks trying to get out, get out to business and to work for the day, they are buried in more than a foot and a half of snow that hit chicago really over 36 hours here.
