Brig. Gen. Leonardo Pena, 302nd Infantry Brigade commander, in an interview with the Philippine News Agency on Tuesday, said the summer camp training is "intended for the ROTC cadets who are projected to become ROTC officers in their different schools". Lawyer Eliseo Labaria, Comelec-Siquijor provincial election supervisor-designate, told the Philippine News Agency that he has submitted his recommendation to the Regional Joint Security Coordinating Center (RJSCC) for approval. "I recommended to place the entire island under the yellow category of the so-called election hotspots or areas with security concern because of intense political rivalry among the candidates for governor," Labaria said in mixed English and Cebuano. Col. Leonardo Pena told the Philippine News Agency in an interview that they are providing military personnel, logistics, transportation, and security, among others to many areas in Negros Oriental that were badly hit by the typhoon and struggling to recover from the devastation.
