Airstrikes . Reporter Officials Say 50 militants were killed in the airstrike but its hard to verify it. They say they were carried out by the Egyptian Military. They are targeting isis training centers. The egyptian christians were taken hostage in december and january. They believe they were there in libya working. Yesterday isis released a grisly video showing militants beheading the christians on a beach. The entire video is similar to what whatr we similar to what we have seen in syria and iraq. We are beginning to see a growing concern on the part of the egyptians about whats happening in neighboring libya. The real concern is how large a presence will they have in the future. U. S. It heads towards the u. S. Mainland. Florida is bracing for a direct hit. The storm now forecasted to make landfall as a category 4 hurricane and this could strengthen even more through the holiday weekend. Chad myers is in the cnn weather center. What are you seeing there, chad . Looks like 130 Miles Per Hour is now where the National Hurricane center has kind of settled on. We were 70, 80, 100, 110 and now were at 130 Miles Per Hour somewhere very close to the grand bahama island or nassau by sunday morning. By monday morning likely onshore or at least very close to being onshore in florida. Theres a couple of caveats with this, we call it the cone of uncertainty. There is a chance because of the cone that this storm as it begins to turn and slow down could stop or slow down 30 miles sooner and we could still be in the cone and miss florida altogether. Thats part of the cones error process. But also it could go all the way across and be in the gulf of mexico and still be in the cone.
Is concerning. It is a little bit, especially for florida, because the slower it moves, especially after its made landfall and just sits there, the more time it has to dump rain. So we look at what the storm is doing right now. Here you can kind of see that Forward Movement northwest at 10 miles per hour. The sustained winds are 110 miles per hour. Keep in mind that is 1 mile per hour off from a category 3 storm. We are tinnicontinuing to see t storm strengthen. The eye wall is trying to close up a little bit. Thats a sign theyre going through an eye wall replacement cycle so its very likely this will be a category 3 storm at some point today, likely in the next three to six hours. We do still anticipate it to get up to a category 4 in strength. Its moving through an environment that has very low shear and very warm ocean temperatures. Both of those things really help the development of systems like this. We still expect that landfall most likely to be in the southern half of the state
