Rescuers say 24 people are likely dead, and hopes of finding any more survivors are fading. More than 170 people are missing and no one in the mudslides path has been found alive since saturday. Abcs Tahman Bradley has the latest on the search. Reporter along the disaster zone, the rescuers are battling mud and debris and the weather. A Flood Warning is in effect, and there are fears of another landslide. We had a very challenging day today with the rain, and that just further complicated things. Reporter the National Guard and even dogs have joined the search, but the mud is so dense, its acting like quicksand. Theyre literally getting stuck, sometimes all the way up to their waist, which means then they need help getting out of that area. We begin with that massive mudslide in Northern Washington state. Search crews have now recovered 16 bodies, but another eight bodies have been located in the debris field. Dozens remain unaccounted for, and we now learn that a government scientist warned 15 years ago about the potential for a disaster at this site. Bigad shaban reports.
