plaza. buses won t be picking up thousands of kids that count on a ride to school. sharon chin is in san francisco to explain these so-called cost saving moves. sharon, good morning. reporter: good morning, robert. yes, the school board voted to cut bus service by more than half and that means more than 3,000 san francisco public elementary, middle school students are going to have to find another way to get to school. the examiner reports that the district pays $100,000 a year to run each yellow school bus. the district face a $113 million deficit and the cuts in bus service could save $2 million a year. last spring the school board approved using home addresses to determine school assignments thus reducing the need for buses. right now, there are 44 yellow school buses serving 59 schools in the san francisco unified school district. that could drop down to 25 buses when all the changes take place over the next three years. now, school officials say they are going to wor
