Man seriously injured in 2-car crash involving rollover, head-on collision with tree, police say Updated Apr 20, 2021; CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – A man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday where one vehicle rolled and the other hit a tree head-on, police said. Officers were called at 11:50 a.m. April 20, to the crash in the 12000 block of Verona Road in Marshall Township, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. A black Lincoln MKZ, driven by a 37-year-old Battle Creek man, was going west on Verona Road when he crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming gold Mercury Mountaineer going east, police said.

Calhoun County Sheriff s deputies responded to a reported accident Thursday, December 17 at 7:40 a.m. involving a Calhoun County Road Commission’s grader. A passerby spotted that the Road Commission vehicle had veered off the road and crashed into a tree in the area of Boyd Drive and 6 ½ Mile Road in Newton Township. The male driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He is described as a 60-year-old Marshall Township resident as well as an employee of the Calhoun County Road Commission.

Road Commission grader operator dies in crash and last updated 2020-12-17 18:14:30-05 NEWTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A crash involving a Calhoun County Road Commission grader Thursday led to the death of a 60-year-old Marshall Township resident. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Boyd Drive and 6 ½ Mile Road in Newton Township about 7:40 a.m., according to a news release. They believe the man had a medical emergency. He was found dead inside the grader. An autopsy has been scheduled with Western Michigan University’s Medical Examiner’s Office. The man’s name is being withheld until family has been notified.
